Fundamental analysis

Definition

Analysis of anything that can affect the value of a financial instrument, for example economic, financial and industry conditions. Fundamentals can be both quantitative and qualitative. The fundamental value, or intrinsic value, is then compared to the current price. If the price is lower (undervalued), this may be a good opportunity to buy; and if not (overvalued) a sign not to buy.
