Initial Coin Offering (ICO)

Definition

An initial coin offering (ICO) is the first sale or offering of a new cryptocurrency, or blockchain. ICOs are used to raise money for projects, and because ICOs are unregulated, due diligence is very important. Note that many people use Initial Coin Offering (ICO) and Initial Token Offering (ITO) interchangeably. See also: Tokens and Initial Token Offering.
